Resumen

En los últimos años, la historiografía de la arquitectura latinoamericana creció exponencialmente gracias a la categorización adquirida por las revistas especializadas como herramienta de investigación. Esta presentación ofrece adelanta resultados de una investigación cuya hipótesis aventura que, durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX existió una alianza arquitectónica intelectual entre Argentina y Chile. Las evidencias surgen al analizar este tipo de publicaciones, cuyas páginas exhibieron los avances culturales regionales y que, confirmaron, a posteriori, el reconocimiento arquitectónico de la “modernidad apropiada” latinoamericana. La metodología desarrollada se concentró en un análisis comparativo de doble vía, distinguiendo los trayectos y las relaciones de sus actores (editores y profesionales), el contexto geográfico en el que se desempeñaron y las obras y publicaciones que los instalaron en el medio arquitectónico. De esta manera, la investigación considera cuatro planos de estudio: el temporal (1950-2000), el geográfico (Chile y Argentina), el tema (la arquitectura) y los medios informativos que los reflejaron. Los resultados, aún incipientes, surgen de la catalogación y digitalización de algunas de las colecciones observadas en ambos países para los cuales se consideró la frecuencia, las temáticas, la ideología de sus promotores, las categorías de sus orígenes (comerciales, institucionales, estudiantiles, por ejemplo), la estructura y el perfil de sus discursos (análisis del poder, de las estrategias, de los protagonistas, entre varios más).

Abstract

In recent years, the historiography of Latin American architecture has grown exponentially thanks to the categorization of specialized journals as a research tool. This presentation offers advances of an investigation whose hypothesis adventure that, during the second half of the 20th century, there was an intellectual architectural alliance between Argentina and Chile. The evidence emerges from the specialized publications, in which pages the regional cultural advances were exhibited and which, a posteriori, confirmed the architectural recognition of Latin American "appropriate modernity". The methodology developed focused on a comparative two-way analysis, distinguishing the paths and relationships of its actors (editors and professionals), the geographical context in which they performed and the works and publications that installed them in the architectural medium. In this way, the research considers four levels of study: temporal (1950-2000); geographical (Chile and Argentina); theme (architecture) and the media that reflected them. The results, still incipient, arise from the cataloging and digitization of some of the observed collections of both countries in which the frequency, the themes, the ideology of their promoters, the categories of their origins (commercial, institutional, student, etc.), the structure and profile of their speeches (analysis of power, strategies, protagonists, etc.).
