Abstract

In this text we will analyze two cultural magazines created in two Argentinian provinces during the 1940 and 1950 decades: Ángulo, from Salta, and Calíbar, from La Rioja. Both of them were created by groups of artists and writers that intended to establish networks and bonds inside and out of their provinces and to consolidate their artistic fields. Throughout the text we will reconstruct their contexts of creation, we will analyze the content of their pages and recognize their main aesthetic ideas. Both Ángulo and Calíbar functioned as platforms that enabled the access of both groups to central positions on their artistic fields, wich also allowed them to carry out two long-sought institutional projects: the creation of the Fine Arts School “Tomás Cabrera” in Salta and the opening of the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts “Octavio de la Colina” in La Rioja.
